One of my very good friends  Jatin, who just got engaged  had to undergo an operation on this 28th. Unfortunately I wasn’t around at that time when he was getting operated, I was just struck somewhere.  So me and the entire group(Manjit and his wife Jyoti,Sunil,Kavita), we all went to see him in the hospital.  Though he was not supposed to laugh due to having stitches on the stomach, we still made him smile alot.I hope and wish he would be completely fine and back in action as soon as possible!

Blogging is getting very much popular and there are a lot of Oracle related blogs which are mentioned in my favorite lists.  But some elite gurus are still not into the blogging and all that. But no doubt, we all want to read from them in a different style or I should say in a light manner as compared to the normal talks and presentations they give.
Jonathan Lewis needs no introduction when it comes to Oracle and Oracle Database.  He is among the most knowledgeable Oracle professionals in the  world.  His site  is a great resource for some of the finest information about how Oracle works? But still uptil now, a formal blog from him was missing.  So finally, after a long wait from the entire Oracle community, he has started writing his scratch pad .Do check it for sure if you really are interested in knowing some hard facts but with proofs and for me time to update my blogroll!

I am not able to be so much active on my blog in the past few days.  Not because that I didn’t want to be or I was busy but coz that I am feeling empty from inside.  I am not sure why it is?There are some things that are there which are not letting me concentrate and think consistently.  That’s why you have seen borrowed articles on my blog more than ever in the last few days.  I am not very happy with it.  I have some things in my mind but I am not sure how much time I shall take to give them a face with words.  Hopefully I shall recover very soon. Please bear with me till that short while. Thanks a bunch!

Marriage is one of the most happiest and life changing events that can happen to one in his/her life.  There is no strength,no joy which can be compared to that trust, assurance that someone is with you,no matter what will be the time, conditions and circumstances may be!That strength one gets when he/she ties knot with his/her soulmate. This happiest moment has come now in my friend Jatin’s life when he has met his better half, Deepti on 24th of September.  A pre-engagement ceremony was organized by the families of both Jatin and Deepti.I was not able to join  this auspicious occasion coz of my travel routines but my wishes for both Jatin, Deepti are always going to be there, doesn’t matter where I am!My heartiest wishes are and forever will be with you Jatin,Deepti!Wish you have this world’s joy, happiness  and success forever!Hopefully I won’t miss the grand ceremony :-).

On my APEX website , Tripod website  , MSN Live Space and on my Blogger’s blog , I try to put that web links or web blogs as soon as possible which I  find interesting and useful.  You can see the list of my favorite blogs and sites over there.  I do that for two reasons.  One, I find it so much easy to locate and visit my favorite websites and blogs from one place and second it shall help anyone else too who is looking for some good websites and blogs,to locate and find them at one place.  That’s why I try to add any website and blog of my interest as soon as I locate it.
Its been long time ago since I added any new site and blog in my lists.  Not that coz I didn’t find anything exciting or useful but coz I didn’t have that much time to site and update the templates of my blogs and sites.  Today I decided finally to do it before I shall misplace the list and than will regret.  So here are some new additions in my list of useful sites and blogs.Hope you will find them useful.  Have a look:
  • Meebo.com : If you have too many accounts on IM sites and are looking for managing them at one place, here is one solution that will interest you.Meebo provides you a very easy web-interface where you can have manage, use all your Yahoo, MSN,AOL like accounts.  Very nice!
  • NetVibes.com : If you already use, Google’s personalized web-page service than you wont find “NetVibes” much different.  Its a similar kind of service where you can read your mails from Gmail, read wonderful things from BoingBoing and also can be updated with the latest technology and other news from your favorite sources.  Very handy, just like Google.
  • Solaris Internals.com : If you are like me and like Solaris operating system more than any other o/s than you have come to the right place for learning internals about it.  Very useful resource base for Solaris.
  • The Daily WTF.com : If you are looking for some WTF moments, experiences of Oracle world, you would love this site.  There is a Oracle WTF blog also inspired by the main site.  Enjoy!
  • John’s APEX blog : I missed this blog for some time.  Later on one day I read it and just decided right on the spot that it will be a must add in my lists.  John talks here about APEX and also some other stuff like his “toys” :-).
  • Roch’s Solaris blog : I found this blog in one of the Solaris posts  on Doug’s blog. As Doug mentioned, this blog is an excellent resource if you are interested about Solaris.
  • Oracle Musings blog : This is not a new addition to my list.  The reason I am mentioning it here is coz, Dominic Delmolino has moved his blog   and I have updated the link.  So just in case, you haven’t done it yet, just change the address from here   to its current location.

The Cave,The Wild & Tom-Yum Goong…. October 6, 2006

What’s the best thing that you can do when you are sick and walking 10 minutes too makes you tired like that you have climbed Mount Everest?Exactly you watch movies :-)!So that’s what I am doing from some days as my health is a bit shaky from last many days.  So I watched these 3 movies and here is my opinion on them:
The Cave
I do no like movies which are much dark movies and whatever is happening is happening in a dark environment.  All you can see, hear is some shouting, cries but nothing clear is there in front of you. The Cave was no different than that.  I guess there was nothing new that I saw in the movie.  Monsters killing people, people running and shouting, out of all who shows in the starting of the movie, 2/3 makes it to the end.  Movie starts with a punch but loses its entire charm till the end.  Won’t say that I wasted my 2 hours but I am certainly not going to watch it again either.
Tom-Yum Goong
Tony Jaa, with his first movie, Ong-Bak , broke all the records and gave martial-arts and movie world a true action and martial-arts hero.Ong-Bak had everything which one would want to see in a true martial-arts action flick.  Excellent fight choreography, interesting story with interesting characters, on the whole a total entertainment package.  So what happens when you make a brilliant movie like that and comes with another movie? You are expected to deliver way better than before.  When I started watching Tom-Yum Goong , I was really expecting the same that this would be far better in every term than OngBak.But I was disappointed to see that there was nothing which I could say, that it was better than OngBak.Truely speaking, better is not the right word to use.  It was not at that level even!Story was on the same track.  Fight choreography can be called a little okay but there was nothing which was missing in OngBak.I would say,it was far excellent in the OngBak.I finished the movie just coz it was a Tony Jaa movie and I wanted to see the ending.  But that too disappointed me.  I have no problems with sequels but it must be better than the former release.  Lets see what comes next?Fingers  crossed!!
The Wild
The Wild  again a comic flick from Walt Disney.  Excellent movie! That’s all I can say!I enjoyed watching it so much and moreover, I smiled so much! All the characters were superb in the movie.  Story wasn’t so much extra ordinary but still it doesn’t let you get bore while watching the movie.  If you like comic movies and love cartoons like me, you must watch this movie.  You wont be disappointed :-)!
