Why Geeks Make Good Boyfriends, Secrets Revealed…. September 28, 2009

I have started reading blog of Vaibhav and got the following from his personal blog. Needless to say that its just awesome. Surely enough all the credit for the post goes to Vaibhav.
In the wide world of dating, there are many options. Do you go for the flashy guy with the smooth smile, or the dude in the corner typing away on his laptop? The following are reasons why I think my fellow females should pay more attention to the quiet geeks and nerds, and less attention to the flashy boys.

  1. While geeks and nerds may be awkward, they’re well-meaning 9 out of 10 times. That smooth dude with the sly grin and the spider hands? Wonder what HIS intentions are… plus, I’ve never had a geek guy not call me when he said he would. Score major points THERE.

  2. They’re useful. In this tech-savvy world, it’s great to have a b/f who can make your laptop, desktop, and just about anything else that plugs into a wall behave itself.

  3. They’re more romantic than they’re given credit for. Ok true, their idea of romance might be to make up a spiffy web-page with all the reasons why they love you, with links to pics of you and sonnets and such… but hey. It lasts longer than flowers, plus you can show your friends.

  4. Due to their neglected status, there are plenty to choose from. You like ’em tall and slender? There are plenty of geeks/nerds who are. You like ’em smaller with more meat on their bones? Got that too.

  5. They’ve got brains. Come on now, how can intelligence be a bad thing?

  6. Most are quite good at remembering dates. Like birthdates and such, especially if they know it’ll make you happy. Due again to their neglected status, they’re more attentive than guys who “have more options”. Plus, with all that down time without a steady girlfriend, they’ll likely have mental lists of all the things they’d love to do once they GOT a girlfriend.

  7. Sex. Yep. Sex. I’m not really familiar with this myself, but I’ve friends who’ve been intimate with geek guys and it’s raves all around. They say a virgin wrote the Kama Sutra… all that time thinking about sex, imagining sex, dreaming about sex, (they are male after all) coupled with a desire to make you happy? Use your imagination.

  8. They’re relatively low-maintenance. Most can be fueled on pizza, Twinkies and Mt Dew. No complicated dinners needed here, so if you’re not the best cook, eh. Can you order a pizza?

  9. Most frequent bars as often as slugs frequent salt mines. You won’t have to worry much about your geek guy getting his “groove” on with club hotties because, frankly, he’ll be too busy rooting around under his computer wondering where that spare cable went. You won’t have to worry about him flirting with other women because, 9 out of 10 times, he’ll zip right by them in a perfect b-line towards the nearest electronics store. I’ve seen this happen.

A Really Messed Up Shopping Day…. September 27, 2009

Posted by Aman.... in Random Stuff.
At times, things which appear to be simple and straight forward give you the baddest times of all and you reach at a point where you start thinking that when its going to end? The same kind of thing happened with me, V and S when we left for buying a desktop pc( I actually should call it server. I shall tell the reason of it later) and thought that it won’t take not more than 2 hours including our commute time. But what appeared to came in front of us that we spent the whole day trying to get things sorted out which finally came on the track this morning when we were able to install Windows XP 64bit (yes 64 bit, can you guess why I mentioned “server”? No, keep on reading) and also Windows 7,32bit. It ended well but the journey towards the end was surely not smooth and gave us a real tough time.
S wanted to buy a pc and I suggested to him that he should get a bigger desktop than what “ordinary” people use. What I mean by “bigger” was using a Dual Core Processor, 4gig of RAM. He went one step ahead and declared that he would go for, Quad Core processor , 8 gig of RAM and 1terabyte of hard disk space. Now this is waaay beyond what any normal person would EVER install in his home for “daily” use. This configuration is not normally available in the server boxes as well as they start from 2 gig of RAM. Anyways, we are NOT normal guys, we do distinct work so it was sealed that we are going to get this pc only. Now, the first issue that did arise was that which motherboard we should buy which would support this much of configuration. After doing a lot of research and checking for the avilability in the local place where S lives( New Delhi) , we zeroed upon a mother board. He went to get the entire thing done at the shop, paid the entire amount as well, only to be told that the board is not available. WTH! He had to come back empty handed(but pockets full with the cash that he got back as he didn’t buy anything). Not a good start if you ask me!
I was doing a training here and staying with S only. My session was going to be over on Friday only but S was going to buy the pc so I thought I would stay back and would go with him. V is another friend and geek who had to attend some tech conference today but he came down 2 days early so that he could meet some of his friends and relatives and also could join the team which would go with S for his shopping of PC. Well, we all went yesterday at about 10am. There was no shop opened at that time so we decided to sit for some time and have a coffee at Cafe Coffee Day. That was the only 40-50 minutes where we had some smiles and laugh and had a little of fun. I shall post some pics that we took there. Once finished with coffee, we headed straight to the shop from where we were going to buy the machine. Well, not really straight as we stopped in between over Costa Coffee because Vaibhav drinks black coffee and wanted to buy coffee beans for him. We were told that only Costa sells them so we stopped there to “test” some of the beans and to enquire about the price and all. It wasn’t too costly but we were not going to buy it at that time so we left after saying thanks. The next distraction came as the next showroom was of Sony Vaio where I stopped to check if they have some good backpack. Guess what they did have one, VGP-CCP4/R. I did like it a lot its compact design and told the guy that I would come back and buy it( I did it as well) and left from there. Finally , we were at the place where we were supposed to get all the components of the machine. We did a lot of to and fro moments in other shops already by the time we were there so we knew what we wanted. Once we were all set, we paid the amount( we had to check 2 teller machines for this as well) and were sent to another shop where all the components were going to get the shape of a full blown machine. We were done over there in a small interval but our joys didn’t live for long when we came to know that the power inverter was not there. We had to sit and wait for it. Well, it did came after some good half an hour wait. The next shock was S wanted to have a “good” wireless key board, mouse combo and we decided to go for Logitech MX3200. Well, to our bad luck, that too was not there in that shop where we were standing so we again had to wait for it. It did come and we left immediately with big smiles all over our faces, thinking that we are done and now, very soon we shall join the big league of 64 bit users, not knowing that there was some thing else decided for us and those smiles were going to go away very soon. Oh by the way, in the mid way, Vaibhav did stop at an LG shoppe to ask the gal standing there about LG’s newest LG TV LCD.
When we got back, the first thing that we did was that we had lunch as we were dead tired. After that, immediately, we opened ( or can say ripped open) all the boxes. When S opened the pack of the key board, he mentioned that the set doesn’t look new and appears to be a used one. Also the keys were not functioning properly. Well, we thought at least we should give it a try for once and we tried to use it, only to be assured that the damn thing doesn’t work at all. Needless to mention that we were really upset. Vaibhav had to see some of his relatives so me and S decided to rush immediately go back to the place to get the complete set replaced. It was not even an hour I guess since we bought it and we didn’t want to do any more experiments. So we rushed back and talked to the guy who immediately agreed to change the piece. We thought we would check it this time before taking it. Just before we would do that, S asked to stop after figuring out that the pack doesn’t contain all what was mentioned on the outer box. We asked for the complete cash refund which the dealer accepted immediately. After getting the cash back, we bought a standard, wired key board( we had bought a wired mouse already in the first phase) and got back. Well, by that time, it was 7pm and its needless to say that how much tired we were.
After getting back, taking a shower, we were ready to install Windows 7. Well, the damn thing didn’t start at all for the installation. We even did install Windows 2000 but it was no luck. I guess its worth to mention that all the versions we were installing were of 32bit but they should had got installed anyways. S thought of a clever trick that may be seeing this much of RAM(8gig) , these windows are getting confused( 32bit can’t use more than 4gig) so he removed 4gig of RAM and guess what, IT WORKED! We installed Windows 7 successfully! But this is a server machine and we needed 64bit operating system only to test it fully. Time to go for another run of installation of Windows XP64 bit. Well, we did it today morning and yes, its working dandy! We can say that we have a full blown server running in our living room here 🙂 . Anyone wants to have his database being hosted here , I can assure we would give early bird discounts 😉 !
I shall be leaving soon from here back to home but this was one of the experiences which I don’t think I wanted to have but I guess, it has helped us all in some way or the other! As it is said that if it ends well than its fine( I guess I have messed up really well the actual phrase but you must have got the sense) so I guess we are smiling. Let’s see now how much S can beat this server and make it cry doing all of those installations that are enough to make any normal desktop cry. I can see a lot of blog posts coming by S 🙂 .

An Amazing Poetry By Ahmed Faraz…. September 26, 2009

Some times, even when you give all your love to someone, give her all the love, care, affection that is possible, yet she picks up her career than you. Even though you cry in front of her because of all what she did, she still doesn’t care a bit even about it and without any shame tells you that she has nothing to do with you, your tears don’t mean anything, it hurts! It hurts way much more than words can describe or voice can narrate! Yet some times, you come across such incidents, poetries which just depict that pain flawlessly. I came across one such poetic marvel yesterday writen by Ahmed Faraz. If you ever got hurt by your own love even when you loved her more than anything else in this world, you would love the following lines. Have a read,
Jab Kabhi chahe andheron me ujale usne,
Kar diya ghar mera sholon ke hawale usne!
Us pe khul jati mere shaunq ki shiddat sari,
Dekhe hote jo mere paon ke chaale usne!
Jis ka har aieb zamane se chupaya maine,
Mere kisse Sar-E-Bazar uchale usne!
Jab usey meri mohabbat par bharosa hi na tha,
Kyon diye meri wafaon ke hawale usne!
Ek mera hath hi na thama us ne ” Faraz “
Warna girtey to kitne hi sanbhale usne!
And here is the translation of it in English,
Whenever she wanted light for her,
She just  lit my home on fire!
She would had understood the intensity of my love,
If she would had seen the wounds over my feet!
Whose every sin, every wrong thing, I did hide from this world,
She only went and spoke bad about me to the entire world!
When she never had faith over my love,
Why did she gave references of it to all?
It is just me whose hand she didn’t hold,
Otherwise she did give shoulder to many others!
I don’t think that there is anything that I can write to add something to it. As I said, some pains are not capable to be told in words, some wounds are not visible from outside and some tears don’t come out from eyes. Only those who have felt those pains, who have been hurt by their loved ones, only they can feel that what happens when none other than that person whom you loved so much hurts you and still feels no regret for doing so but claims that he is right! It seems people forget that in love, its not “I” but “us” and its not “my happiness” but “ours”!

Training , Birthday, Fun Fun Fun…. September 24, 2009

It may come as a surprise but I am attending a training this time. I did attend one in the last week as well and just for the record, I have paid for both from my very own pocket and I paid a LOT. I have been asked by all that why did I pay from my own pocket but that’s not a very long but indeed a very disturbing story. I won’t be writing about it (at least not at the moment) but I have learnt couple of lessons from this episode for sure though! Anyways, so this is the day 4 of the training today and it will be starting in another 2 hours or so. So far it was an okay kind of experience. I can’t say its very good but I can’t even say that its really bad. Good thing is that the instructor is a good friend of mine and he is putting a lot of effort to explain the concepts , guess why, because I am sitting in the class 🙂 .  About the other delegates, my partner is extremely good, a real techie and guess what , he is from  Punjab as well which means, a Punjabi like me only! So we are having a great time and moreover, training is the starting of the learning for anyone so its not the last of the things but is one of the very first things actually. Once you have got the training , now its up to you how you enhance that knowledge? Let’s see what comes up in next two days? Hope all will go well 🙂 . I guess, its enough for the training rants , let’s talk about some thing good and exciting, how about an all boys birthday party 😉 ?

Yesterday was the day when God sent S to this planet earth 27 years ago. The birthday celebrations started from the other day itself when we cut a cake at midnight. I really want to post the video that we shot at that time but it has too much of , hmm what can I say, “excitement” packed that I don’t think web sphere would be handle it! Anyways, so yesterday at about 6.30pm , we all gathered at Connaught Place as was told by S. The plan of action was already prepared and except of me, all knew about it already that where we are going and all that.  So as decided, I got over there. Finally, it was me , A , D  , P and of course the birthday boy himself, S! S and others knew where to go so we all headed straight to that place. I wanted to buy a laptop backpack for me and we did stop to see one for me but some how, we didn’t buy it. As we were walking towards the place, I thought to buy a gift for S and shared my thought with D. S is extremely thin( see him in the pic below) so D warned me that it would be extremely difficult to find any clothing for him and he was indeed right. We thought to get a pair of jeans for him but finally ended up getting a casual shirt. The good thing is that he did like the shirt. There is nothing better if you are there with your friend on his birthday and he did like the gift that you gave to him. So after the shopping was over, we were finally in the place. It was pub sort of thing but it did have good food as well. Me and S don’t drink but the rest of the gang doesn’t leave any chance to have a go over it so they had a blast with the beers. The place offers “happy hours” which means that in a certain timing if you order, you would get one bottle free and surely they ordered within that time only. We ordered couple of snacks and out of those, two were extremely good. Me and S tried couple of fruit mocktails as well and they were good. It was crazy the way we were behaving over there, especially P who alone is enough to knock out the whole place whereever he is standing 🙂 . We were not at all looking like educated computer geeks( all of us work as a computer techies only) and if you ask me, I don’t like to look like one either! Anyways, after paying a whooping bill of 3000 bucks, we came back to the room. If you know me, I can’t close a day without having a cup of tea so at mid night, I asked S to make one( he makes really good tea) and finally after having it, declared it a day! It was just great and I can’t recall when it was last when I had a great time like this. There is nothing like being with your friends and especially with those who are so good from heart! It was just great that’s all I can say!

I am putting here a pic of ours. D is missing from it as he was actually taking the snap 🙂 . Can you guess who is who 😉 ?

A Fun Evening Doing “Window Shopping” …. September 20, 2009

Posted by Aman.... in Random Stuff.
Okay so I am here today with my friend S at his place because I am going to attend a training tomorrow onwards. I decided to stay with S as this is going to be the best reason for spend some time with him and the current mood in which I am at the moment, staying with him will surely give me a nice refreshing change.
So I started today morning at about 9.30am and got here by 5.30pm. The first thing that I came to know when I got here was that S and entire gang is going to visit a shopping mall, Emporio Mall. I didn’t visit  this mall before and neither did S so it was going to be exciting. So finally me, S, A and one another friend of S, Rajesh with his wife were on their way to the mall. It was a good experience as the mall hosts a wide range of national and international brands of clothing , appralels and other stuff. Today there was some fashion show also going on over there so we did have a look at that too. It wasn’t good at all to be honest but anyways, it was still fun to some extent. I was desperately hungry because I didn’t have anything since morning so I had “Raj Kachori” over there while A and S enjoyed their Coke while taking bites out from the Raj Kachori :-).
The mall has lots of brands but to be honest, I really didn’t like the mall much. It had nothing which did excite me. I am not sure why though but for me, it was just an okay kind of mall having the same kind of brands that are there almost everywhere. Yeah, the place was well built , very beautifully designed. I have seen almost all those so called brands in my travels abroad so they were of almost no interest for me. Yes, I met Rajesh who is an exceptionally hilarious guy and that was the best part for me. There is nothing like being with your friend, especially when you are having tensions on the mind. Overall a good fun filled evening. Yes, I really wanted to buy some clothes for me but the brand I was looking for wasn’t there so I had to come back empty handed. So we all got tired while doing “window shopping” only 🙂 . Finally, after getting tired, we all got back to our place. We were all desperately hungry and tired by the time we got back so we immediately rushed for our dinner! Not to mention that we really enjoyed it :-).
I am still feeling tired like anything and as I am going to attend a training tomorrow, I need to be in the best condition of my mind so that I can understand all what ever would be told tomorrow so I am going to bed now. Hope I shall catch some sleep, looks difficult though thanks to the stupid tensions over the head! Let’s see , hope sustains life , right 😉 !

YATP…. September 17, 2009

Well, I guess you must be tired of reading the same title , “yes I am back” or “back” so thought to give another  one but couldn’t think of anything other than the old ones 😦 . So the title again became, Y(et)A(another)T(ravel)P(ost). Its different right 🙂 . Anyways, I just got back today from a 16 day long tour. I can’t say that I really had a very good time except for the last 3 days where I had some smiles and a good time as I was on the “other side” of the table where I was listening to someone else. Yes, I did attend a training myself this time. No, not for a change. I really needed to have this training and I tried a lot for it in the past but some how, it was not happening. So now , when I came to know that its happening and a good friend and highly techie guy is taking it up, I just jumped for it. It was a good session and I had some really good laughs in addition to meet up with very nice folks in the session. All the other guys who were there with me in the session were really good and intelligent. Over all, we had some really good technical discussions with some good smiles in between.
Now, I am at home for a small time as I shall be leaving again very soon( yeah yeah I know you have heard the same before as well). I need to go for a hair cut tomorrow as I wont get time for it if I would be leaving next week. But hair cut would be tomorrow. At the moment, its time for sleep as I haven’t slept since last 3 days , not for a minute even. Why? Well, just having some tensions over the mind. Just hope that all remains well! Anyways , time to say good night as eyes are getting closed. I yet have to check my mails and all and that would be a nightmare as I know , the number would be in thousands , if not, couple of hundreds for sure :-S ! Let’s see what happens!

A “Forced” Shopping…. September 6, 2009

Posted by Aman.... in Random Stuff.

What it can be right? Well it is when you don’t really want to or have planned to go for shopping but still you have to get up and go because of conditions which were not in your hands! I did make the whole thing sound very serious right 😉 ! Well, here is what happened. I haven’t gone for shopping for myself since quite a time and when I say “quite a time” , it ranges back to past couple of years actually. I have mentioned already at couple of posts that there is a reason for it which I am not sure when and how I shall disclose. I do go for shopping still but that’s not for me but for my sister. So I had no plan to go for shopping this time too if a stupid event hadn’t happened.

I have a white shirt which is there with me from “quite a time”. A very nice, Van Heusen shirt which I really liked to wear all this while but I guess my liking went a little too far and I didn’t retire the shirt from its services at a suitable time 🙂 . So 2 days back, when I gave it for washing, my room service guy returned it to me completely torn up from right shoulder. He said sorry and mentioned that it happened while washing it. I knew what he said could be very possible as when the clothe becomes old, it becomes weaker and for this reason, with washing strokes, it may have got messed up. All the guys over here in this guest house know me very well and ( I guess) respect and to some extent like me a lot too. So he said I guess with that same friendliness that sir, I have been working here since last 3 years and have been watching you in this shirt, its my request that you get a new one as this is now not wearable anymore. Okay , now this was it! The shirt was already damaged beyond limits and I am short of shirts for the upcoming session( always carry the same number of them as the number of days of session) so I had to go and pick one today in any case. If it would be just like any other day, I wouldn’t have bothered to be honest but I guess, I didn’t have any options today. So I went  to the near by Pentaloon store and bought a white shirt. I hope its okay but even if its not, I now have a new shirt 🙂 . My shopping spree didn’t stop here only. I bought a top for my sister as well. At the payment counter, the guy asked me that whether I want to have the membership card issued to me? Now he said all of this world’s good things about it but I just got it for one reason that it would get me some discounts after a purchase of 6000/-RS. So it won’t be a bad bargain in 100/-RS so I got it. I was done here but I had still one more thing to look for, again some thing which I never bought so far!

My friend  told me few days back that he bought a usb drive of 8gig. Now, I don’t know why but I never bought one. I have a hard drive( usb of course) which is of 100gig and serves me well. But I have to get a software which is going to be of 4 gig and with that couple of other softwares which would certainly go for 2/3 gig more in size, I thought to get one too because using a dvd drive won’t be an option at the moment for me for the place where I am working. So I bought one usb drive too this time. There was an Apple corner too and a guy standing over there said hi to me, only to make me stand there and eat his head for a good 30 minute time 🙂 . I asked him all of this world’s questions about Apple, Windows and almost what ever I could think of. With a thanks and an assurance that I would get back soon to buy some product from him, I finally left.

My mom asked me over the phone to get a lot more than I have bought today but I still have got just one shirt (and a usb drive which means nothing for normal people) so I am sure, I would be requiring to explain a lot when I shall get back. Let’s see when the next round of shopping happens and hope that time, it won’t come along with the “forced” tag 🙂 !

A Truly Great Movie, Hero…. September 4, 2009

Its just very very rare that you watch a movie and it leaves with you some thoughts , making you think about it again and again, making you watch it repeatedly still feel like its just the first time. Also to make you write a blog post about it at 2.20am in the night, not all can do that! There are just very few which have touched me so deep. I have seen few Chinese movies so far and I am just spell bound with them. I watched both parts of Red Cliff  some time back and I referred to it all I knew whom like to watch good movies.
Today I couldn’t sleep thinking about some tensions and just switched over television. Over a movie channel, Hero starring Jet Li, Tony Leung Chiu Wai was coming. Now, I had seen the end of this movie couple of times before as well and to be honest, I neither did understand it nor I liked it. But this time fortunately, it was coming since from the beginning. Though I still couldn’t see from the actual beginning and got hold of it some where from ahead only but I still didn’t miss too much ( I guess)  and this time, I was able to understand the movie and enjoyed its greatness! Its an excellent movie, something which has so many emotions involved in it. Jet Li’s acting has been really good. I am not much aware about the other actors but they were all equally good too. Its just sad to see that Jet Li does most of those stupid fictional roles now which makes no sense at all. Looking at his martial arts and acting talent, its just a shame that he too have become too much commercialized now. Hero is surely one of the best movies of him which I have seen so far.
I won’t mention too much about the story as it would be better to actually watch the movie and see it. Just to give an idea that its based on the history of the Qin kingdom and its king which eventually became the first ever king of Qin Dynasty of the unified China. He also made up the Great Wall of China which is one of the great wonders of this earth. The movie revolves about the emotions of 4 people who desperately wanted to kill the king. They were so determined that they didn’t even bother to give away their entire lives for this sole purpose. Jet Li plays an assassin who vowed to kill king but despite working so hard for his entire life for this, in the end abandons the wish looking at the king’s good intentions. It is just remarkable how the entire story takes so many twists and turns, giving you one impression and than changes it completely. The story , in my opinion, has been expressed really well in the movie. There is not much martial arts moves in the movie. Though there are some but they are used to complete a scene. There is no scene which has a dedicated martial arts fight sequence and if you ask me, it has been done just right as other wise, the whole taste would have got ruined. Its not like any other martial arts movie in which the goal is to highlight typical moves of martial arts but its a movie which has a great story to tell. All the characters in the movie are presented as real masters of martial arts and have used it really nicely wherever required. Even if you have no interest in martial arts, you would still love the fight scenes. Yes, some sequences are not real and there must have been a use of wires or some other helping stuff in them but it won’t( shouldn’t ) bother you much. The music has also come up very nice and goes really well with the scenes. There is a fight sequence where on a traditional instrument , an old man constantly keeps on playing while a fight is going on, making the whole scene come up just awesome!
There is also a romantic angel too in the movie between two characters, Broken Sword and Flying Snow. I really liked the character of Broken Sword , a true master of martial arts, a very good artist and a loyal and true lover. In the end, there is a scene which just shows that woman never believes over a man that he truly and madly loves her and when she finally realizes, its too late already. There is a sequence in which the lady Flying Snow asks Broken Sword that why he didn’t let the king die? She says to him that does he not care about his people? To answer it, Broken Sword says that he does care and also he does care about her so much! To which, she answers that she doesn’t believe and to make her believe , he has to do a sword fight with her. The look over the Broken Sword’s face truly shows the pain that he felt hearing those words. He does a fight but at a straight attack of sword from Flying Snow, he just throws away his sword letting it penetrate his heart and kill him, all just to prove that he really did care about her more than anything else! After seeing him dead, Flying Snow starts crying saying that why he didn’t defend him? She eventually kills herself too but what for? She took the life of that person from her own hands only just for a stupid thing that she wanted him to prove his love! That’s what happens all the time! Its just so easy to say to some one to cross oceans , mountains to prove his love and yet , people don’t respect and care person’s love , care , affection and devotion and feel no remorse in saying that they have nothing to do with him at all anymore. For them, their wishes, career, study in abroad matters much more even than the tears of the other person for which they go ahead and say that they don’t matter for them! I just fail to understand how one can do that, I really do! In the movie as well, Snow killed Broken Sword, thanks to her stupid anger and failure to understand both the love and emotions of him. Not sure why people don’t understand that its not everyday someone loves you more than anyone, anything else of this world and its not good to give tears to those eyes only who wherever look, try to find the image of that beloved only! Not sure how people become so heartless that they don’t really bother breaking that very heart into pieces or penetrate a sword in it who has nothing but so much love for none else but for them only! Just got no idea how and why?
I shall conclude by saying this only that if you haven’t yet watched this movie, you must watch it at least for one time for sure! I am really positive that you won’t regret 🙂 .

I couldn’t write anything for last 2 days  thanks to the guest house where I was put in. As I mentioned that it never happens with me that if I am going to be in some another guest house over here , it never turns out to be a good one and the same happened this time too. Except for an “okay” kind of room, there was nothing that could be called even bearable over there. Be it staff of the place, be it food, internet connection of them, anything and everything was not working. I normally get along with the staff of any guest house/hotel really well and very easily too. It doesn’t take me much time to observe and see how they are and how would they behave, call it whatever, a skill, instinct anything but I guess, I hardly have gone wrong in my guess about this. And this is not limited to just guest houses and their staff, this does apply to almost every place where I get interaction with another person. Its rare that my observation about the person is going to get proved wrong. A blessing with a curse it is. Why? Well, this is a topic of a future post, not of this one. So let’s stop it here and continue the ramblings over the guest house. Alright, so when 2 days back , I got into the new guest house, thanks to no vacancy in my “actual” guest house, I had a feeling that this won’t be a good one. And to make my instinct prove right, the first thing which did happen was that the internet was not working. I was told that there would be a direct wire to get me to the WWW but even when I used the wire, there was nothing which was working. Reason was unknown. Well, as I just arrived and was very much tired, I just slept. I was told that it was raining that’s why net is not working next day. Never mind, it does/can happen. I was not able to come out from this bad experience and the second shocker was breakfast, which was really bad. Okay. I had whatever much I could and left for the session. I came back in the evening only to see that internet is still down, again there was no reason( except for the old rain one) . I ordered dinner looking at the menu. When it came, I was reassured that the stay here is surely not going to be pleasant one. Anyway, I had a little only. I had a little breakfast too in the morning as I was getting late. I was told that they would put me to some another room where internet would be working. Well, what I could say except yes. So I was going to shifted back to another room and I disturbed. But I am not in that room and am also not in my original room as well. I got a call from my manager of this guest house that they are shifting me back to the actual guest house where I stay all the time and is it okay for me? What else I could ask for knowing that all would be fine there( and it did was like the last one)! So in the evening, I got shifted to this new guest house( new for a stranger may be) which is just perfect in all the sense.  So finally, I shall be able to have some nice sleep and good food 🙂 .
The session took off really well IMO. The delegates were really great. One of them sat in an another session of mine as well. But all of them were really great and knowledgeable. And we did  have a good time/discussion for 2 days. You must be wondering why I am using past tense for mentioning things. Well, have some patience and keep on reading and you would come to know  😉 .
Today there is an festival here. So we were told that there would be huge rush over the roads so please cancel the classes before lunch so that both, trainers and delegates could get back to their places safely. We decided to push up till lunch time and then wind up. But there was some thing else which was meant to happen. YSR Reddy, chief minister of Andhra Pardesh, was reported missing since last morning. There was a huge search operation going on for him but nothing gave any fruits. Today, I was told at about 12 by one of the delegates that he is found dead due to a chopper crash. This sent a panic signal across the entire state and there were mourning started everywhere, creating a very unstable environment. I was asked to wind up the session way before 2.30pm even and I had to listen to them as it would had been a huge problem if anyone of them would get struck over road or in the office. For tomorrow, already there was an announcement in the office that it would be remain closed as the cremation ceremony would happen tomorrow, which  means things would just become from bad to worse tomorrow. So this means, that there won’t be any class for tomorrow. As I am having a  session here only for the next week as well, it really doesn’t leave any option for me to get back too as I would be required to fly back here on Sunday. So I am now having  3 days ahead of me which are just idle and going to be completely wasted. I won’t be able to go out too which means, they would end being really boring as well. Not a weekend I would want to have at any point. But have no choice now except to kill time and wait for Monday to come when I would get busy in some action with the session. Sitting idle is a really bad thing as there are tons of things which start hitting me and already , there is a tension over my head and now its going to haunt me for next 3 days. Bad bad bad! I would see if I can find some thing to make me busy. Not sure I would be able to find some thing but I shall try my best!
Just before I wind up, I am seeing an email popping up from Pustak Mehal, a large book publishing company which , not sure why still keeps on sending me the updates/mails even when I told them not to. Few years back I wanted to learn Gujrati language ( don’t ask me why, I won’t mention ) and I was looking for some tutorials and I ordered books from this publisher. Books were good and I was able to do a little of reading/writing of that language. I wasn’t much good( actually was not good at all) but I was trying very hard to learn it. Since that time only, I am getting mails from these guys. Not sure why they have not stopped sending me mails ? Are you trying to find a relation  of this with the above part? Well, there is none actually. It was just a rant and its over now 🙂 . Off to bed I am now!
